The forecast called for 2-3's & 5-10 winds so me and a few buddies decided to make a run. We left Lanark at 9:00 and were immediately greeted by thick fog in the bay. We eventually got around Dog Island about 30 minutes later and headed for the first spot in 40 ft. No bites after 20 minutes, so we decide to go out to try a few more spots 10 miles south. The seas were 4-5 not 2-3 so we took it slower than usual trying not to get too wet. Didn't work  About 50 minutes later, we got to the next spot in 75 ft. The bite started slow with the red snapper and eventually the short grouper got in on the bite. At 12:30, we put our first keeper gag in the box. The fog was still thick and we got caught in a few short rain showers. We fished around the area for a few hours, then decided to head in around 4:00 with a nasty thunderstorm approaching and what seemed to be a developing waterspout! Back in at 5:15, met the wife and sister-in-law for dinner at 7:30 and now it's time to crash....will post pics later....

TOTAL FOR THE DAY:

4 KEEPER GAGS (22-25")
A FEW ROCK BASS
2 TRIGGERFISH
NO RED GROUPER

BAIT WAS LY'S, SQUID & CIGAR MINNOWS AND THE FISH HIT ALL 3 WELL. JUST NOT ALOT OF BIG ONES THIS TRIP.

Good report, looks like tough fishing everywhere in closer like 50 ft or so. Red tide must have done a number in closer.
