Well, after sleepin on it, I decided to go fishin today.Got to the lighthouse a little before 10. There was this guy standin there with a couple of rods and a backpack lookin for a boat ride. I figgered what the hey. I'll take him. He introduced himself as Charles, threw his stuff in the boat, and off we went.

Let me start the fishin part of this story by saying NOAA was wrong again. When we launched, the wind was out of the east at about 10 mph. When the tide started in, the wind did indeed turn out of the south, at about 15. The catchin part is short and sweet. 1 red and 2 trout, all released to fight another day.

Charles had to leave a little early, so I dropped him off at the ramp and headed back out. During the time I was in the canal the wind kicked up to around 20 mph. I decided to not go very far. Found some 68 degree water in a creek, but no bait, no mullet, no fish.

Back on the trailer at 4:45.

Sure did enjoy the company, Charles. :thumbup:

Dad and his fishin buddy went out today and had a similar experience.
Fished east flats
Short red and couple of short trout.
and LOTS OF WIND!

THey came home early.

See, ya shoulda done them chores, THEN went fishin :-D We never even wet the boat, the wind shut my girls door on her when she tried ta open it at Bottoms around 3:30 and she informed me that she would get sick in no time in that mess :o Glad y'all got a few fish today :thumbup: :thumbup:

BMAN, I spoke to your dad and his fishin buddy at the ramp this morning. They were debating if there was enough water to launch. I enjoyed talking with him.

I saw the bay late in the day & I was wondering what NOAA was thinking. Nothing easy about it so I guess it's like fishing for them too.

Be glad you caught something.....

We fished Wed from 30ft to 10 inches. Not a single bite was had all day. Maybe the shrimp were intimidating the trout. They were too big for sure. Wind kicked up pretty good by 2pm.
