I couldn't sleep thinking of fishing the mighty St. Joe Bay...Got up this morning and headed that way a little later than I wanted to, momma had cooked me some breakfast and I had to eat it or I would of faced the rolling pin :o

Meet the new folks running Presnells, he was really nice, told me the trout were slim to come by, but there were some reds being caught in the back of the bay.

I launched....I rode to guaranteed fish catching spot number one...Hmm no grass....Off to guaranteed fish catching spot number two....Plenty of mullet, grass, deep holes, but no fish....Off to guaranteed fish catching spot number 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10...etc....Tried to hit the goto redfish hole....ended up getting out of the boat to push the boat in there and back out :o

Ran to the Gulf canal as I rounded the channel heading to the bridge someone flipped the switch on 15 knot west wind...NOAA :smt076 ...Water was really muddy in the canal....I left after a few casts.

Went to the place if you can't catch a trout there it's just not your day....Finally got a hit...It felt unusual and exciting after a million casts and no bite...I was almost afraid to set the hook....Ended up getting one more hit before packing it in.

Did see alot of mullet and a few small pinfish...hope things improve in the next few weeks on the bay, I love that bay...The gentleman at Presnells said I had the best catch of the day :o

Picture timer was a little slow and the fish needed to be released...Fish was really lit up with color, wonder if he was offshore a few days ago...Trout was 18.5"....19" with the tail pinched

Miles ran 36.5

Weather folks say a dry cold front ripped through this morning. That might of had something to do with it.

Thanks for the report chalk

RJ has my vote. That front came faster and stronger than predicted.

Thanks for the report Chalk.

I threw the fish back in and marked the spot for you to go back and anchor and wait for him to come back.
