Got in the water on Saturday about 10:00 am. Made my fisrt stop in 4.5 ft. of water and started catching trout within 15 min. Bit pretty steady for about 2 hrs. and then shut down. It picked back up about 3:00pm and we caught a good bit more. I was quite suprised to find the water temp between 62 and 64.5 degrees. We even caught a few fish in 8 ft. of water. Me and my two sons came back with our limit. Caught 50 plus trout, most were short. Fried 'em up that night and had a great feast.
We got back on the water this morning about 9:15 and went to the same spot. Water was 60 degrees and we didn't get a bite. We only stayed 'til noon but finally managed a few shorts and 1 keeper.
Wonderful weekend to spend with my sons.

Thanks for the report RH. Sorry they didn't bite for you today but it makes me feel better about packing up and coming back early. It was certainly a beautiful morning. I was tempted. The 4.5 hour drive is better if I strike out early. The reception at home is better if I don't get home too late also

Sorry i'm late getting back to you. On Saturday, the most productive lure by far was the candy corn jigged off the bottom. Not like we jig later this month either, they wanted it fished like a Texas- rigged worm for bass. Pick it up tall and let it fall, pause 5-8 seconds and repeat. They usually picked it up off the bottom while it was resting. Also, when I got to clear water they would'nt bite. Once I got back to murky water the bite was on. I'm going back Wed. and Thurs. and I'll let ya'll know what happened.
