Left fort about 8 yesterday. Probably should have slept in as there was no water well out. It was essentially a -2' tide. Windy till about 11 or so. Fished behind a sandbar east of the channel to stay out of wind and picked up a few shorts on jigs - go figure :D . Finally made it out and around worked in on the tide.

Rode the tide in spooking a lone trout or occassional red in 8" of water. That kept my hopes up. Worked in to a creek mouth and anchored up, per TC's rx. Anyway managed 7 trout there most between 18-20. Was about to leave and threw one last time and picked up a 24" trout on topwater! Released to breed Chalk

Went looking for some reds and found 4. All in all a nice afternoon on the water after wind laid some.

This morning my lovely wife asked me "how can you stay out there all day by yourself on the water" ----I dared not tell her :-D .

My wife doesn't ask that question any more. She just wants to know where I'm going in the event I don't come home. She said something about the insurance not paying unless there was a body.

How many lower units have you left out there before you learned that trick?

1,but that was in front of Stony Bayou. Still haven't found that rock since. All the rest I remember from slow idle and low tides.
