Beginning to look at some Garmin fishfinders examples...

I saw an add for a 100 as well. Not sure how many different units there are with a max price in the low $200 (very low!) I actually am thinking that I'd like to get the lowest price unit ($100 range) with temp capability. Now... considering that I don't do much fishing deeper than 12-15 ft, (occasionaly I'll venture into 35-45 ft but not often) I'd like to hear some discussion/recommended unit for this type of activity. Dual frequency... single freq... etc I would prefer a quick disconnect so the unit can be removed from the boat and stored inhouse. Go to work wevans...price needs to include the transducer Thanks folks.

Both the 80 and the 120 have a portable model that comes with a quick release mount, for the little bit more the Garmin 120 portable would be the better choice.

I'm not wevans, but if I replace my Eagle, it will be with a Garmin 120 or 140. 140 being the newer model, 120 is last years stuff, I believe....

I gotta say that the 140 looks to be the best bang for the dollar they don't mention the temp. in any of the descriptions, so ya may want to ask about that

We have 3 Humminbird Matrix 17's and a Matrix 15. They all come with temp. The 17's have dual cone,although you don't need it shallow.
We are well satisfied with performance.

Bud, take a look at the single frequency 250. You won't regret it.

I bought a 250 dual frequency last year....Don't see the need to ever buy anything else...It does all and more that I need a fish finder for....
However, I don't know that I especially need the dual frequency.. deepest water I've ever been in is out past 24 in maybe 35 ft....At that depth I couldn't tell any difference in either frequency settings......
It sure gives a crisp, detailed look at the bottom though....

Ordered this morning...should be at the door before noon tomorrow.

Learned that these things are hard to find "in stock"! Chalk found the best price...they had 2 in stock...went to dinner after work with wife...upon return...they were out of stock. Called every possible location in Tallahassee, West Marine was only place that had a Garmin...$260 and no transducer! Advantage Marine was going to be the best/quickest source until they found out the distributor was also out and it would need to come direct from Garmin at about an extra $50 to get it next day. Advantage did do everything they could and were sure good about getting back to me Ended up ordering from GPS City. $217 at the door by noon tomorrow. Thanks for all the input from you folks. I know there's bunches of opinions but I'm sure glad to have them available.

SR I agree with you about all these forum opinions..They've sure been of benefit to me...........

I am currently using the 120, works great no complaints here. It does have temp and you can also monitor the battery voltage which is the feature that sold me. You can set the low battery alarm at any voltage you like.

What do yall think about the 160c color Portable dual freq. Gariam fishfinder for 206.00
I would like to get yall input on it also i going to buy something soon in the garmin Line

I wish Garmin and the other companies could give you actual coordinates for all these good fishing dropoffs/holes they have on the demo image.
