hit the water about 12 on Sunday to fish the incoming. Headed west. Fished behind John and Patty's Islands in 2-3 feet of water. Ended up with 8 trout, 4 of which were keepers between 15-19. Most were caught on DOA shrimp under a CT. A couple bouncing a jig off the bottom. Tried to hit a few oyster bars for a red but nothing doing. I think I saw more dolphin playing/ hunting in the shallows than I ever have in one day in my life. It was nuts. They didnt help fishing much. But it was neat to see. Headed in about 5 when the tide was high and got checked by the man waiting in the channel stopping everyone that passed. Not the most productive day on the water but it was nice anyway.

Any day on the water is nice.

I've never been checked by the man on the flats. I saw him opening weekend checking folks near Spring Warrior but he didn't come our way. Too shallow, I guess. Did he check all your stuff or just your fish?

PJ, he was pretty thorough. checked all of my gear for expiration dates etc. as well as the cooler. He was nice about it though. I have run across a few with bad attitudes but he was pretty friendly.
