Any reports from St. Joe Bay??

Gentlemen -

I am headed to St. Joe Bay this weekend for a Men's Retreat with my church. Most of these folks do not fish on a regular basis, so I am looking to put them on some fish.

Anybody been over that way recently?

Thanks -

Try the gulf canal.....from there towards Presnells....I didn't find any trout in back of the bay a few weeks ago.....plenty of sheephead were seen....redfish are back there as well...trout should be on the flats by now....check the deep hole east of Black's Island it's usually good for some school trout

Me too.
Got Spanish?
Boy are you in luck. I'll assume you don't have a boat so I'll send you to the Oil Docks (Behind MC'd's) with spec rigs to catch Spanish 2 at a time. You'll have a lot of company because it's a yearly spectacle when they show up, which happened THIS MORNING!
Also, if you have "relaxed lazy" fishng on your mind a sand spike surf side with fresh shrimp is likely to pick up a Pompano or other joyous critter.

Oh yeah, buy white Spec Rigs before you get to St Joe.
Personal trick, just for you:
Get the 1/4oz ones & trim the mono tails short (to mimic smaller baits, but still heavy enough to launch).

I'm headed to st. joe as well. Trying to decide whether to bring the Gheenoe or just some beer and the beach chair. Any opinions?
