St. Marks April 5

Went exploring yesterday and worked in a little fishing.
The day started with a cold wind from the northwest but by late afternoon it was blowing briskly from the south. First up Peters Rock, then Grey Mare, Porpoise Creek, Deep Creek, up behind Palmetto Island, Stoney Bayou and back to check out the bars around the mouth of the St. Marks.
Not many boats out - saw maybe 10 altogether. A couple of mullet boats seemed to be doing well east of Palmetto Island. Visited by a friendly FMP officer near the lighthouse. In a sour note, upon returning to the ramp I discovered someone had jacked-around the uprights that hold the lights on my trailer but with a little bungy work it was good enough to go.
Oh yeah, three medium trout, a nice red and a ray. But a nice day anyway.
