Slide the Ghostrider into the Presnell boat basin around 7:00 this morning with my little buddy from Mississippi, Birddog....we had high expectations of filling the cooler with fish and having our lines stretched.

Basically fished the whole bay from Presnells to the back end to Eagle Harbor...Caught trout, redfish, bluefish and even a few pinfish

Saw a few good trout and redfish, hooked up with a few of them and even landed a few of them.

Lures were spoons, jigs and topwater

Caught what I think is the biggest trout by weight of my life....26" and we guessed the weight at around 6-7 pounds, Birddog was thinking it was closer to seven....took some pictures and let her go back to make some more....Birddog had the reds zoned in, I had a few follows but no takers...Birddog also caught a nice 24" trout

Water was as low as I have ever seen it, we got stuck once and had to push the boat a few yards  .....Hit a sand bar pretty hard too

All in all it was an excellent day....nothing broke, caught good fish, saw good fish and good fellowship on the mighty Gulf of Mexico...Can't wait to go again, maybe tomorrow

  Man, that fish is beautiful!! She's so big she almost looks like a salmon. WTG. My biggest so far was 5 pounds.
I bet she pulled like a mule.

She did DixieReb....She took off and Birddog thought she was a red.....I had seen a glimpse and said no it ain't....I bet she peeled off 30 yards before she slowed down....Birddog got her in the net and the hook fell out

Caught her on a Texas Tackle Red Killer and a 1/8 oz jig head

I looked at the pictures, I took some of her on the blue fish stick...I conservatively guessed her to have a girth of 15" and 26" long..homepage calculator says 7.3 pounds, will never officially know.

I'm looking into having release mounts made of the two fish I have caught in the past couple of weeks...It's really been a special spring for me with trout.

The fishing rash I have now has festered and amputation might be needed :o

Thanks for the comments, get out there, they are there waiting on you

She does look kinda like a salmon :o

Spectacular fish Chalk. Way to let her swim  . That picture beats any fish in the cooler. With the mass she's carrying at 26 inches I think she is easy over 7. Awesome.

Very nice fish Chalk,

You seem to have found some big ones this spring.

I hope to catch one like that some day and have a fiberglass mount made as well.
