Lanark Fri 4/14

Seeing a forecast of 5 mph winds, I just had to take off work and go throw a fly. One day Im going to learn to stop going by the NOAA forecasts.
I couldnt talk anyone into playing hooky and going along, so I slept in and got a late start. Arrived at Lanark Reef around noon, greeted by whitecaps, 5 mph winds this was not. After getting over my disappointment in the winds, I started looking for reds.
Found the first school in about 20 minutes, and managed to put a fly in front of them which yielded a 30 " fatty, it was a good start. I kept progressing down the reef and found another school cruising along. By this time I gave up on the fly due to a heavy wind making things miserable, and pulled a 26" one out of the group with a spoon. I spooked another school later, but two was all I got in all. I left by 3, after scouting a few more flats in the area.
It was a good 3 hour getaway, minus the winds.
