Offshore/Inshore/Econfina

We arrived late friday just in time for about 2 hrs of fishing. The wind was
really blowing making it not much fun. We only caught about 12 trout and 2 keepers. Hoping Saturday would be better we would try offshore.
We had a few live baits and plenty of dead bait. We got a late start about 9 30. The wind was not bad so far. We hit spots from 25-70 ft. The water was outstanding clear ( ready to dive ) Temp was 71.5 all day. You could see the bottom out to 40 ft and deeper you could still make out the live bottom patches. No fish until 55ft. Caught 4 or 5 small gags, some grunts, and 3 really nice Amberjacks about 33-34 inches. The grouper seem far and few between for us. Maybe in a week or 2 we can find them. I'll for sure take my tanks next trip because its clear as it will get all year i'm sure. Late in the day the 2 - 3 NOAA had called for came. We finally figured him out ( this should help everyone for sure ) He's and English guy , thats the biggest 2-3's I've ever seen with a 25 knot wind behind them. Then it hit us, its in meters, ( now you know ) ! frank
