Played hooky and got to the water around 5pm. Immediately started catching trout.
My buddy then proceeds to hook into a 33 inch redfish and bring him in.
I catch a Black drum.
He catches a sheepshead.
Great afternoon on the water. Water still kinda cold. Fish were caught on the beach during a really high tide!
Totals:
1 33" Redfish
2 20" trout
5 16"-19" trout
1 Black Drum
2-3 15" trout throwbacks
1 Sheepshead
Couple stingrays
and the best: I DIDN'T Catch ONE Catfish!

Do you know if there's public ramp at AGP?

GC- we were down there on thursday and only found 2 dirt ramps w/ VERY limited parking. the main ramp at the marina is fenced off and i guess you only get a key if you own a condo there.

There IS a fair public ramp on the right just before the first curve after the water tower(maybe 3/4 mile past tower). It is a little rough, but it is concrete. The only thing is you HAVE to put out there on a fairly high water level, cuz at low tide, there is about 50 feet of muck between the water and the ramp.
Hooked
Oh, it is also on the BAY side, and I would not recommend it for anything bigger that a maybe 15 footer....

Don't know if I am the only one but.... I declared war on catfish 2 years ago and have used MANY for chum since then.... My thought - if there are fewer trash fish eating the baitfish, shrimp, crabs, etc. there will be more for the fish we want to catch....
Sounds like you had a good day! Can't wait to get out there with my boys this weekend if the weather cooperates.

This reminds me of my "Save a Duck- Kill a Coot" plan.
Besides the Coots taste good!
I love AGP- wish I had gotten something down there when it was cheep.
THe Marina is very protective of the ramp- for home owners only. THe big deal is that you cant park there.
