Slide the Ghostrider into St. Andrews bay around 0830 this morning...Wind was blowing a good clip...I ran out to one of my spots, making sure I didn't cross anything deeper than 3 foot, cause it was white capping in 4 foot :o .

Started fishing a bank trying to stay out of the wind...had a few strikes on topwater, caught a rat red on a spoon.....investigated a creek, ran over a nice slot red with the boat :-? ...found a nice secluded bay that warrants further investigation on a flood tide....Spooked a doe, threw a cajun thunder at her, but she wasn't interested :smt102

Left the creek and started beating the bank again....had a catfish eat my mirrolure, after some surgery the mirrolure survived :o ..Ended up catching three more on the same mirrolure

Threw back out and caught a nice 19.5" red...threw it in the baitwell in hopes that I could replace it with a bigger one....Never happened, dodged a few thunderstorms, caught 3 more rat reds, caught a few trout, none keepers.

Despite the weather and wind, I had a blast, can't wait to do it again.  :

That place sounds sweet Chalk. Someday maybe the NFGFC should check it out. Around spring break maybe? We could turn JT51 loose in Panama City :o :o . Too bad about the deer. Deer steak would probably be pretty tasty with redfish...kind of a redneck surf and turf

Should've threw the spoon at the deer.

I know you were glad to be back on the water.

Looked at radar around 2:30 and saw a large red storm on top of the boat ramp you used. Wondered if you were still out there. Glad you made it back.

Thanks for the weather update...That last cloud you told me about went south a little, so I figured I would run up north of the landing....100 yards later it was a down pour and lightening struck and clapped at the same time (yeah really close), didn't take me long to get back to the landing

Not a bad way to kill a Friday, even if the weather didn't cooperate.

BTW, you need a bigger net if you're gonna catch a doe.
