St Marks 5-7 nothing doing

Went with two friends Sunday out of the lighthouse. Launched about 8 am. Looked like a good day. Decided to try west since east hasn't been producing for me so far and didn't want to go too far expecting the weather to change. Right off the depth finder went out - broken wire at plug
So now the gas gauge AND depth finder don't work!
Tried the stake line, first stake, second stake nada. Tried various places west. Nothing.
Decided to go east just a ways out from the tall tower on land. Right depth, slight breeze for drift, no fish! Went into a beautiful creek (got to find out the name) set up a perfect drift down the shore.
Two other boats were on the exact same drift when we left.
Finally gave up and headed in.
Whopping total for the day:
Sea Gurl - 1 lady fish, 1 lizard fish, 1 catfish, 2 trout 17" & 18"
Two friends - 0 (not even a single bite
)
Luckily, having had a productive day with Wevans the day before, I had plenty of fish to share so everyone got to have fresh fish.
Except for Mashes Sands trip this has been my luck so far this spring out of St Marks.
It's been more like late summer fishing for me.
