St Marks 5/17 and 5/19

This is a little late and not that much to report, but for what it's worth ...
5/17 started at nearshore rock piles (30 feet) hoping to hook up with a cobia or maybe a stray grouper. Got short groupers only. Went inshore and the bite wasn't much better. Caught two trout 19" and 22" on the flats and a 16" flounder along a rocky area of shoreline trying for a redfish. Proabably could have managed a limit of trout but didn't stay long as the wind picked up to 20+.
Went with a friend on 5/19. Started out inshore with topwater and gold spoon. Not much. Got a 18" trout on topwater. Also netted up a few small mullet which were awfully good smoked
Friend tells me there's grouper in 18'. Didn't believe him but wind not blasting at the time so we take the short ride out to some rocks in 21' and troll back to 18'. Wound up getting two nice groupers, 27" and 25", and a really nice black sea bass. (I'm working on being more open-minded)Wind picked up to the customary 72 mph and we fought 3 foot confused seas (like being in a washing machine) coming back in. Glad we didn't have very far to go.
Hope everybody's having a good weekend.
