Re: Common courtesy question
I wouldn't ride within a 100 yards of anybody anchored offshore even if I had the number. That's disrespectful and there is too much water out there. Not like it's hard to find a hump or ledge with electronics. As far as the charter captain who thinks the ocean is his, I could careless they can fish...

The cut is usually slow this time of year. Those are Ruby Red or pink mouth grunts and are good eating. Are far as I know there still is no limit on them. Those rock bass are the best tho. Fillet and blacken 1-2 minutes on each side.

Be careful at cut. It can get rough. I recommend a pretty good size boat.

Re: WTB fish finder color
Not going to get much out of a $100 color unit. The new Humminbird Helix models are the most bang for your buck. I don't recommend the little 4 inch models they are really only good at telling depth. Hard to read structure or maps.

Re: Paul Browns softbait lures for saltwater
They are very good baits. Probably won't be able to twitch one in the surf. I would use off the bridge do to the many bar jacks there. With it being a soft bait, you can be out $10+ in a hurry. A toothy critter will do a number on one. That's the down side of these baits. I would use a Rapala suspen...

Ipilot is hands down the way to go. Battery last a very long time and at $3.50 a piece, why wouldn't you carry spares. It takes seconds to change and has a battery meter. I change mine before it goes dead. As far as in creeks, it's the cats meow! I use the cruise control to control speed. I like .3 ...
