I know Tim is having fun and practicing catch-and-release anyway, but if there's ever a chance of a possible world record catch, avoid using those type of flies. The International Game Fish Association does not recognize them since they are considered entangling tackle. Just FYI.

KyTrkyHtr, where did you get your rope fly? The Ochlockonee River below the dam is full of gar. That would be a great alternative trip if too windy down at the coast.

Very easy to tie. Just take some nylon rope and untwist it real good or brush it out. Take a large hook and tie some lead wire ...

Well, some folks consider these "trash fish", but I think of them as prehistoric & golden goodness on the fly!!

Saturday was a tough day on the water. Since the lake has been down for a long time it's given enough time for the green vegetation to grow and grow everywhere... and now with the lake ...
