Re: Where have all the oysters gone?

No sir. Your statements about nature being able to recover without our assistance rankle me greatly. I have spent all of my professional career trying to be sure this spinning rock is in better shape when I take the dirt bath then when I arrived. I live my life that way, too. You also made very inco...

Re: Where have all the oysters gone?

What a relief. Now I can start dumping my used oil down storm drains again. Vegas can keep sucking the rivers dry. No more money needed for Everglades restoration. The City of Tallahassee can stop spending that $230 million on wastewater improvements and Wakulla Springs will be fine. It's just peopl...

Re: Where have all the oysters gone?

Nature will not bounce back if we continue to abuse it. That's a fact.

Re: Where have all the oysters gone?

We always try to say there is THE cause for something. It's human nature because if there is THE cause, we believe we can fix it. More often than not this presumption is false and not supported by the data. For example, people thought the decline in the bee population was based on cell phones, insec...

Re: SGI Sunday

Very nice! We were down there this weekend. Fished the bar just to the west of the scout ramp on the rising tide and got not a bite. Usually find something over there. Fished the pocket park to the east of the church and the bar behind the church. Nada. Should have gone on the Gulf side and got some...

01/05/14 St. Marks

Left out of the ramp at the fort at dark-thirty. Third truck in the lot. Very cold run out to favorite rocky areas a few miles south / southeast of the rock garden. Knew the sea bass would be there on the early morning falling tide. Was thinking about ceviche the whole time. Wrong. Nothing. Threw ev...

Re: Good Sunday Morning

Morning. Buddy and I are about to head down to St. Marks for a little nearshore/offshore fishing to chase the black sea bass. Been told they are thick on the rock piles. Will report later.

Re: Fishing Report 12/20/2013

Also fished St. Marks yesterday. Got into a school of puppy reds up by the power lines right off the bat. No keepers. Got broken off once, didn't get a visual and don't know what it was. Found a bunch of dink trout and a few keepers further south, along with some really nice black drum. No spot prod...

Morning. Boat is hooked up and I'm out of here. Thinking with this wind I might put in at Newport and work my way down the River.

Re: Tallahassee area sightseeing and eating help for friend

Great suggestions. If she is here for only two days, I would caution about the trips out of town. A lot of time in the vehicle for such a short visit. I would suggest a trip downtown, look at the chain of parks, the Old City cemetery, and then take the elevator to the top of the Capitol. Great view ...

Morning. We just had the shortest rain shower ever here on the south side of town (Tallahassee). But it was timed to coincide with my morning walk. Grrrrrrr.

Morning. Nothing like taking the dogs out for the morning ritual and having to hold the umbrella over them. Spoiled furry brats.

Morning. Ya'll are not the only ones. One my second cup of coffee, organizing the small tackle box for this weekend's trip to St. George, waiting for my wife to wake up so we can walk the dogs and I can head to work.
