Re: Trolling motor mounting

I recently installed a Minn Kota Riptide ST on my Parker. Along with it I bought the Composite Quick Release Bracket for a couple of reasons, but it really helped with the installation. First off it's a soft material like Starboard, so if your boat is fiberglass you can install the bracket on the mo...

Re: Wood Stove For Sale

So you're now in the 'hood permanently? That stove would be nice for the house or a shop. GLWS. SK it took 7 years, but we finally made it down here permanent about a week ago. I haven't had a chance to fish yet, but hopefully there will be plenty of that coming up in the very near future...

Wood Stove For Sale

Stove is in great shape. Looks lightly used. It's a Ben Franklin Model 26 made by Atlanta Stove Works. Included is the stovepipe and the wall plate. I'm not replacing the stove, just getting rid of it. I know they are good to have if the power goes out in the winter, but I'll take my chances and mak...

Re: Raymarine E120 Issue-Looking For Help

I haven't, but it looks like it could be as easy as unhooking the transducer cable from the blank unit, and plugging into the available port on the working unit.

Re: 4/20/16 Wednesday

PA any man your age who is still fixing things, has to realize that possibly the reason he's still around is because he never got too old to fix the things that broke, and then sat down to let someone else do it. I'm not saying I know that's the case, but it could be. I'm only 62, and believe me I a...

Re: Solar Power System

I wasn't thinking that the extension cords would be installed as "permanent" wiring. If they will let you add a single duplex 120 volt exterior outlet to the house you could actually power that outlet off of 2 separate 15 amp circuits from the house panel. When you want to use the porch yo...

Re: Solar Power System

I'm thinking that an extension cord setup would circumvent the code issues. If you added 3 dedicated 15 amp outlets to the exterior of the house, that would create the potential for 3-15 amp circuits on the porch to be powered from the house when the extension cords are plugged into the outlets. You...

Re: Help!!! Which motor??!

SK, axlegeeks makes the claim that their data is from the manufacturers specs, but I agree it's best to check the model with the manufacturer. I was actually surprised to find that the weights follow the ranges that they do. I had always assumed that as the motor HP went lower, that the weight follo...

Re: Help!!! Which motor??!

In the 115 HP category the in line Yamaha 4 strokes are actually lighter than most of the Evinrude Etecs. 377Lbs vs 390, and the Merc 4 strokes are lighter than them both. http://outboards.axlegeeks.com/compare/65-68-406-488-541-633-654/Evinrude-E115DPL-vs-Evinrude-E115DSL-vs-Yamaha-F115-vs-Mercury-...

http://www.amazon.com/Keepalive-KA1100-Original-Infusor-Aerator/dp/B001NZZ1P0 That product throws a cloud of bubbles into the baitwell and supposedly does a good job of adding oxygen to the water. It looks like a bilge pump with an air hose attached to it down at the intake. When it sucks the water ...

I really like that site. Lot's of info and cool features. The sky video is a fast motion view of the previous days sky, from sunup to sunset. I find myself checking it out every day. I have a question though. Who owns the boat ramp on the other side of the cove? https://franklin.weatherstem.com/skyc...

Very Sad. I know they come up the local rivers too so be aware, although I have no idea of how something like this could be prevented.

Re: I saw this on FaceBook for y'all fishin Saint Marks

It seems that gators will go out of their way to get a dog snack, especially when it's a little dog. I saw a video a while back where a guy fishing from a kayak with his little dog buddy onboard had a gator try to climb aboard the kayak to eat that little dog. Luckily he wasn't successful, but he re...

Re: Real World Opinions on New Sonar Units

I think one of the problems you are facing is that you are going to have to be satisfied with the options you choose. If you think Side View could possibly come in handy for finding new spots out there that could hold fish, and you elect to not get it, that might end up as a regret. Personally I thi...
