Carrabelle 3/16
Redfin, Supafly and myself spent all day riding around 70 miles looking for a redfish. We had planned to do a little nearshore fishing but decided against it after spending some time in front of the islands, nothing there but choppy waves. After checking some birds out for an hour, we ended up runni...

Dog Island reef?
Stacked up 1 to 2s were not fun all day, and by 4 PM it was blowing something nasty. Fortunately our ride back in was with the chop so it wasn't too bad.

Re: 2007 115 hp Mercury Optimax
It's new, so doubt anyone has one. Unless a small price difference is holding you back, the 150HO is same weight, you might as well get that.
The etecs are good motors though.

Re: Jack Plates: Advice Needed
Depends on the boat really. Had one on my previous boat which had no deadrise at the transom (flat bottom) and really needed it on that boat to idle in shallow water. Don't have one on my current boat, it has sponsons in the back and can idle in with the motor trimmed up in as much water as my previ...

Re: anyone have an IPilot Riptide?
Got one and love it, the remote is surprisingly responsive enough to work in creeks w/ oyster beds. The only time you will have an issue is if the current is so strong the boat is moving at a really good pace. It really excels in open water though with the anchor, tracks and auto pilot. I've owned a...

Custom stainless steel prop for Evinrude 60 E-tec
$200, email me at cdaffin@gmail.com I'll be honest I know very little about props, this is a 3 blade prop that was for my old 60 e-tec. I think it's a raker but I see nothing but 17 stamped on a blade. Beavertail sold it to me as a custom SS prop for $475. I used it very little as the boat handled m...

Re: Looking for Z-Man Scented Shrimpz
Do they have the 3" ones or 4"?
The 3s are too small, and I think the 4s are only sold in Australia or something cause they are hard to find.

Re: Droid, IPhone, what's the real deal?
Been through 3 different iPhones and 2 Androids and I prefer the iPhones. The last thing I want to do is deal with my phone like it's a crappy computer, and that's how Android can be.

Re: Sport fish status for trout, reds means catch and releas
I think inshore guides and their clients should be allowed to keep fish is they choose to. Clients can keep fish, the captain / crew cannot. This is just more govt. B/S !! If the main purpose is to protect some of these fish (trout and reds) why did they up the reds to two per day and do away with ...

Re: Close Airboats
Airboats are inherently annoying and obnoxious, add in a go anywhere attitude on the driver and fishing in their territory is never fun. One good thing about them is they really don't disturb the fish and water too much from what I used to witness kayaking at Econfina. Either way, any type of waterc...

Thanks for saving me from having to post that.MudDucker wrote:Sport fish status cuts the fish off from the commercial market, not the recreational fishing folks.
You all need to read before freaking out just cause it's coming from a gov agency.
This is a good thing.
