Huh. I have no idea then. Will be following here to see if you're able to find it tomorrow! Good luck!

Re: Has anybody here ever heard of Twin Sinks?
I think you're describing the same pair of sinks, just approached from the north instead of the east side like most folks come in from. I have a Google Earth map somewhere of a few hundred springs I've cataloged in the panhandle with my notes from freediving each of them. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Sail cat is the best tasting saltwater catfish. Sea urchin and cucumber are straight up delicacies! It's like you're not even trying!Juan wrote:I'm still trying to work enough courage to try sea urchin, sea cucumber and even sail cat.

Re: Why aren't ladyfish considered edible?
I've had them in Carribbean style stews a couple of times. The spicy kind that uses all sorts of bony fish and heads.
Just as good as any other fish meat in that context, but it's all overcooked and infused with tomatoes and spices at that point.

Re: Why aren't ladyfish considered edible?
If you fish some of the large public fishing piers west of here in the panhandle, you'll find families of SE Asian fisherman all year long who will walk the pier taking ladyfish off people's hands before they can throw them back.

Anyone got room for one offshore?
Wife is going to be getting surgery and will be off her feet for a couple of months, so I think I'm going to pull some parts off the boat and start making some upgrades while she's out of commission. Anyone looking for a +1 on any offshore trips between now and May or so? I'm tired of trout and reds...

Re: St Andrews State Park this weekend, need advice
Best time to go fishing is when you can go! Thanks for all the advice regardless, the lizardfish and flounder at least were right where you said they'd be, under that tower!

Re: St Andrews State Park this weekend, need advice
Friday night was too windy (25kts+) and too damn cold to do anything. Fished most of the day Saturday. Tried from the jetties at the park for a while while no luck, then kayaked the lagoon for a few hours. Fished the deeper holes near the state park, the #3 tower that Juan mentioned and a bunch of d...

Re: St Andrews State Park this weekend, need advice
Thanks for all the great details guys. Think I've decided to bring a couple of the Hobies and hope the wives let us play for a while. Juan when you mentioned Deep Water Point, I don't see that on the map but I do see Sandy Point at the cut east of the boat ramp... same place? Or are you talking abou...

St Andrews State Park this weekend, need advice
Will be doing a last minute camping trip this weekend at St Andrews State Park in Panama City, never been before. We're going to have wives and children in tow so I likely won't be able to get away for more than a couple of quick hours. Wondering if it's worth hauling the Hobie with me, or if I shou...

Re: Errors in the trout assessment
I have to ask, it stated a guide was against 40% reduction because it will hurt his business but they are ok with closing in Feb. and maybe even Jan. Wouldn't that kill business also? Should I assume they would still take charters out to catch (stress out, maybe kill ) and release during these two ...

Re: New trout rules
That may make sense for the Big Bend and I'm not opposed to a month's closure but what I don't understand or agree with is splitting the Big Bend from the Western panhandle and dropping the creel limit from 5 fish to 3 fish in the western panhandle when the trout are plentiful and thriving in the w...

Re: Ochlockonee River State Park out to open water?
Cool thanks for the info guys. I launch at Mashes Sands all the time, very familiar with navigating from there out, just never been up river past the bay bridge. Figure we'll just launch from the campsite since we're there already and mess around in the river. Probably won't be doing much fishing th...

Ochlockonee River State Park out to open water?
Going to be camping with some friends at Ochlockonee River State Park, thinking about bringing my 20fter down. What's the river navigation situation like getting from there out to Mashes Sands? I presume the ramp at the park is more than adequate?
