polar skiff 1796 won't plane
I just got this skiff and do not know much about it. It is used. It has an 75 mariner 1989 model i believe. Compression is over 100 on all three cylinders. I dropped it off at my mechanic to go through the carbs. It sounds like it is running ok. It has a stainless steel prop, dont know what size. (b...

Re: St. Marks
We went out saturday from 12-4. Three boats and one 24" red, and a black drum in one of the boats. I caught one small trout and ladyfish. I don't know where they were, no where near me. I stopped at the fog right before the mouth, the boat that caught keepers went through it. My boat was feelin...

Re: No fish left in the big pond. Shell point/wakulla beach
I usually fish econfina or st marks and usually always limit out. I hate fishing around shell point, never seem to do any good. But we stay on live oak island when we go down and it's easier leaving the dock. I figured we'd at least catch a red. There wasn't anything in the mouth of spring creek eit...

Re: St Marks trout thrashing
Well that explains why we didnt see a fish all day. I wanted to goto st marks but my stubborn brother didnt want to leave live oak island. There is no fish within 7 miles of there.

Re: Who sells trailer axles?
Ordered one off of northern tools that was a complete kit. Still have to do some adjusting, I hope it works. I don't know why things cannot be simple.

Re: Who sells trailer axles?
I called them, they can build me one for $400. My local welder can do that for less. I was hoping to find one already made that I can throw on there. Seems like I'm going to have to go the repaired route. I'd buy a new trailer before I spend half chasing an axle.

Who sells trailer axles?
I cannot find an axle in south ga that will match mine. measurements are 4' 4" on springs and 66 1/2 on hubs. 5 on 4 1/2 lugs
single axle trailer on an 80s model mor ark jon boat. 3500 pound axle.. I'd like to get the springs and all and be done with it.

Re: Good Tide?
Tides4fishing.com That is the easiest site that I could learn from, about moon phase, fishing times, and tides. That doesn't predict the weather tho. My first aucilla trip was a disaster. Hit rocks, messed my motor up, tried trolling back to the ramp and messed up the trolling motor too. I didn't ma...

Re: St Marks Lighthouse Advice
I think of redfishing like bass fishing. Get out casting distance to the shore, fish the points and creek entrances. Work around the oyster bars and drop off spots. If you see birds bombing the water, go to them and fish. We usually get there for the riding tide, find a spot and troll around, or anc...

Re: Econfina Sunday 4-9
Went out sat afternoon, hit the grass line trollin. Picked up a flounder, short reds, short trout. Went back out sunday 10-3 and didnt get much at all.. Few really small trout, a red. Drifted from 9-5' water. Had pinfish and every gulp possible. Just no luck. Did end up running up on a bar and messi...

Re: Icky this weekend
Man what a great weekend to be out on the water. We had to fish hard for the little bit we had. We ended up with flounder, red, two trout. Don't know how other folks did, but from what I saw it must have not been too good. Maybe next time. I tried hickory mound, or what I thought were the entrances ...
