Econfina Sunday 4-9

Post by tabb »

Heading down tomorrow. Will start around Hickory mound and see what we find.
Will have to wait until about 11:0o to get out. Holler if anyone is on the water in that area.

Will post a report upon return.

Fished Econfina again. What a difference from last weekend. Rough day for us. Got on the water around 1000hrs 65 degree water temp. Bumped bottom a few times on way out. Definitely mud. Couldnt find any Trout worthy. Had trouble gatherin pins. Got a dozen finally. Managed one fat rock bass while gathering pins. Showed up in favorite creek about 1300hrs. Managed one red 22 inches. Missed three other chances on the reds but couldnt seal the deal. One red and one rock bass for the grease. Great day on the water with my son. Feet dry @ 1600 hrs. :D Tight Lines Everyone!

Went out sat afternoon, hit the grass line trollin. Picked up a flounder, short reds, short trout. Went back out sunday 10-3 and didnt get much at all.. Few really small trout, a red. Drifted from 9-5' water. Had pinfish and every gulp possible. Just no luck. Did end up running up on a bar and messing up my motor. Time to add a skeg guard.

Sorry they didn't bite for you. :( Yeah, a skeg guard can save your skeg, I have one on both boats. The warmer weather this week should help the fishing.

We found our fish in about 4 1/2 ft of water. Had to work for them but would get a Keeper for every 5-10 shorts.
No bites on pins except for shark.
