No need to buy anything...I pretty much for the most part taught myself how to tie and cast from the internet. Plenty of sites on casting and tying. I used to post alot on http://www.flytyingforum.com/

Do search on google video or youtube...plenty of free information for the absorbtion

Get ur ty on - nothing like catching a fish on something you made...my next thing is to build a rod - if I could build a reel and line I would do that too :-D

Seemed to be some interest in another fly swap, so here we go

Rules of engagement:
1. Number of participants - no limit, but the sign up date ends on 01/30/09 midnight
2. Mail X number of flies in package suitable for return mail
3. Include return postage to your address
4. Deadline for submitting flies is 02/28/09
5. Tied by the person, no store bought flies
6. All flies must be the same, so if 12 people sign up and your tying clousers, you send 12 clousers. One fly for yourself, it's easier on the person mailing out lots of flies. 12 groups of the same flies are easier to manage, so send one for yourself.

Taxonomic specialization - None, this is a free for all, tie what you want.

To summarize - You sign up, you tie X number of flies, mail or hand deliver to me, in a shipping container with return postage (even if you hand deliver)...when I receive all entries...all flies one from each participant will be sent out to each participant.

I think I might make this a quarterly event - it's good to make yourself tie sometimes.

Mail the flies to me - I will post my address after the sign up closing.

Players:
1. Chalk - Topwater - Rattlesnake
2. Terrier
3. Nolefear
4. Noleflyfisher
5. Barhopr
6. Sundown
7. Reel Slow
8. Sanblaslayer
9. flflyfisher
10. DoubleHaul
11. Landcroc

Looks like we have eleven connoisseurs of hooks, hair and feathers, time to get your tie on…tie eleven flies send them to the following address:

Jim Chalkley
803 Mallory Drive
Panama City, FL 32405

You need to have your flies in the mail NLT 02/28/09

Along with the flies - when you are at the post office buy the return postage from my address back to your address and place it in the package.

Once I receive all the flies I will assemble the packages – take some pictures of the bounty and then mail them back to everyone.

Looking forward to seeing the flies, we gained a few new members, appreciate those that signed up.
