First Butt on the Smoker...

Post by bman »

Got an 8lb Boston Butt this afternoon and fired up the smoker with natural charcoal and some seasoned oak.

A little simple rub and it was on...
Fire side was about 350, meat side stared at 150

Then the smoke did its magic. Not as dark as it looks in this photo but taking on some great color.

Its staying on for a few more hours.
We will see how it comes out!

It was my first... considered it a trial run. Could have had 5 or 6 going easily!
But it turned out perfect!

Good job Barry. How long total did you have it on the grill? Tell us a little about the smoker. Looks like it's able to be on the road. Give us a picture of the trailer part of it, wheel size, who put it together, etc.

Bet you could grill some serious duck breasts on that baby! Maybe we could work up a trip to LOI now that I've got the house there! Thanks again for your help with that!
