Not local, but this is the largest red I've ever caught. I was fishing with Capt. George Beckwith and his wife in North Carolina's Neuse River during the fall spawning run. We boated a dozen in an afternoon on a slow bite. George estimated the fish at 50 pounds and it was nearly 50 inches long. The article is in the latest issue of Guy Harvey Magazine.

Nice bull I was able to put my brother on this past October. Didn't measure it as I was pretty sure it was too big to keep.
