Everglades Adventure/Madness- Lots of Pics

Post by MuleTrainGA »

Sorry its been so long since I've done a report. I've been so wrapped up in school I've barely had a chance to get back home. Either way, I spent my entire spring break with some buddies down in the everglades backcountry camping and fishing everyday. It was an awesome time and We took plenty of pics to show for it. Highlights included some nice snook on fly, a huge trout and red, a massive 38" snook and getting spooled by a 150+lb tarpon. It was beautiful and we saw all sorts of wildlife and were able to camp on islands to ourselves every night.

Our tally was-
20+ Keeper trout
40+ Snook
3 reds
2 Peacock Bass
10 Mangrove snapper
Sharks, jacks, sailcats, ladyfish

Nice gallery of shots. It brought back good memories of my own time fishing there. The Everglades is one of those spots that should be on every light-tackle angler's bucket list of places to fish at least once in their life.

I completely agree SK, if the opportunity ever arises to go there again or maybe to work down there I wouldn't hesitate to go.

Man, what a great trip. Congrats. Did you find any time to do anything other than fish? :D
