I have an older Native Watercraft sit on top that I fish from in the Winter months. After seeing the newer kayaks with the raised seats, I came up with a way to raise my seat about 4 inches from the factory setup.
Last weekend, I tried it out at Hickory Mound and it fished great. The problem is that the 8' paddle I have now seems too short. Do they sell kayak paddles longer than 8'? If so, where can I find one? I should add that I am tough on equipment and don't need the latest carbon fiber, featherlight expensive version.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Kayak Paddle Question...
It's not a lightweight one, but I bought one of these in the 9 foot length. http://www.cavinesspaddles.net/ProductD ... ductCode=K

Re: Kayak Paddle Question...
In response to higher kayaks, manufacturers are now bumping the size of the largest kayak paddles from 240 cm to 270 - 280. Also if you are standing a lot consider a SUP style paddle (single blade and lots of length).
