If you had a dollar for every lower unit lost at Aucilla, you could retire! Glad you made it back safe to the landing!

Some of the parts from the bottom half of that will save you some money if you can find them. I've done that a time or two myself, including once with a jet-foot outboard. Every time you think you have the Aucilla figured out, it bites you in the wallet. :o

I already am retired so I would use those dollars to repair this one!
So happened there were three of us fishing out of two boats so I only had to wait about ten minutes for a tow back to the dock. I got in the wrong place at the wrong time but my friends were there to bail me out! Praise God for that!

Ouch!! That hurts just looking at it. I've hit rocks but not like that. Wow. But did you catch any fish?

Sorry to read about your trouble, CC. Hopefully the insurance claim won't be too much of a hassle.

Or Double Trubble has another solution to consider.

When you drop that foot, make sure you check the shaft for any damage or bending. The jet - foot motor I mentioned above ran every weekend for more than two months with the main shaft bent before it started overheating. I ended up doing more damage by continuing to run the motor with the bent shaft in it.
