Anybody else see the funnel clouds at St Marks on Sep 1?

Post by GaryDroze »

I was paddling/fishing in Horns Creek yesterday, just east of the lighthouse. Everything was mellow at 5pm. By 6pm, there were two funnel clouds coming from the west, bearing down hard towards the lighthouse. Wish I had a camera with me. One of them got wicked huge and got me thinking that I should have told my wife how much I love her. As I hunkered down on the bank and started praying, the biggest funnel hit the salt marsh needle rush and started to break up. The hammering south wind quickly switched to massive north for a few minutes, then went dead calm. Paddled my ass off back to the car, drove home, and told my wife how much I love her.

Fished all day at Aucilla got wet twice but no funnel clouds. Good conditions no doubt. Limited out on trout one 23 incher but tough fishing all day. SW wind 10 to 12.
