Destin 3/18/07

Post by birddog »

The wife and I, along with huntn2fish and his wife spent the weekend in the P.C./Destin area. Stayed at the Splash Resort on the west end of P.C. Great place. Very nice. Helluva view from the 12 th floor. Caught a good case of vertigo when I walked out on the balcony with a buzz.

The weather wasn't all that great for the beach so we spent most of our time eating, drinking and a little shopping at BPS.

Met the Chalkley's for supper and drinks at J Micheals in P.C. Great meal but even better conversation.

Everyone had a great time Chalk, I enjoyed seeing the family again.

huntn2fish said he had a buddy that had a boat in Destin and maybe we could bum an offshore trip. I said sure...he gave his buddy a call and he said come on over. We get to the dock and his buddy has a freakin' 38' Luhrs. :o

Offshore we go. Grouper bite was a little slow but we managed 5 grouper, 1 scamp and a azzload of red snapper. Too bad the snapper season is closed.

Lost another 5 good grouper, 3 of which just whipped our butts. Would've given anything to have gotton a look at them.

A few more pics...
