Great White shark - Carrabelle

Post by FlatCrazy »

I have no idea if any of this information is true, but I got an email today of some pics showing a great white shark 50 nm south of Carrabelle on 4-29-09. Here is the link to another forum where it is discussed. Think you have to register to look at the pics in the forum.

While not typical, it's not unprecidented 8) there are pods of killer whales that come in close every now and then also :smt004

Like Wevans said, I remember the pods of killer whales around the oil rigs just south of Orange Beach this past winter/spring. Several boats had video footage of them. I doubt it is any less likely to see a white shark than a pod of orcas in the gulf. :smt102

Well, I am not gonna call anyone a bluffer, but that water looks much more like carribean island water than gulf water.

Maybe that blue 100 miles out, but not close in.

But could be. I guess there is no fence in the ocean....

Yes, those are cobia cruising around that shark, so if anyone finds a great white shark this weekend, toss out a live blue crab.
