I'd vote for him

Post by worry knot »

All eyes were on Barack Obama entering Wednesday night's address to Congress, but a little-known South Carolina Republican may have done more than the president’s combative speech to unify besieged Democrats around health care reform.

The night's defining moment — which Democrats hope to transform into a turning point – came when Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) shouted "You lie!" as Obama claimed his plan wouldn't offer free care to illegal immigrants.

Yeah, but like all those fools up there without any backbone, he backed down and apologized this am. If he meant it last night, he should have still meant it this morning.

We will never win wars or any other issues until our officials get BACKBONE!

Just look at Afghanistan. Hell, we have to apologize every time we bomb something because a civilian gets killed?

I have not seen an apology from Osama Bin Laden for 911, have you?

If we are going to keep that up, lets just pull out and save our tax $ for WW III, which is right around the corner.

I betcha when nukes start falling on NYC and LA, our officials will not be "apologizing" to anyone.....

Hate to be a reality check person, but in school, you either learned to be tough, or got yo arse whooped....

If Wilson had bothered to read the bill instead of teabagger talking points, he'd know there are specific prohibitions on paying for illegals in every proposed version. I vote him class clown.

Free care to illegal immigrants is already being offered. All they have to do is go to the local ER and they are treated. Now we have acorn on tape explaining to people how to claim illegals on tax forms. Let me repeat that, "ON TAPE". And didnt they give them billions from the stimulas package? I don’t think it was very mature for Joe Wilson to shout out like that during the speech, however I damn sure wouldn’t have apologized for it.. He might have just had enough of being fed lies after lies.. I think he just guaranteed his seat for the next election. just my .02

I'm just sayin the man had the nuts to stand up to him, I wouldn't have apologized either. If you ain't sorry, don't say you are. If more people would have called him out when he was running for office, maybe he wouldn't be in the White House to start. I saw Obama on a commercial last night, he's on the Jay Leno show, and he's going on vacations. When's he going to use some common sense and realize he's in charge of the country? I'll probably have a knock at my door for this one, but I'm sick of the whole song and dance.

Joe Wilson = Right Wing wack job

...he's just like the other righty wack jobs that pulled their kids out of school when the prez wanted to talk to them, the same ones that told me that my kids were going to get brainwashed into communism if I let them go to school that day (i'm still waiting for someone to point out the socialist propoganda within the speech, maybe it was little subliminal messages?)

Common sense Americans should beware of extremist loonies, 'cause if they belong to your politcal party, they're gonna wreck your credibility (again).

I think that if you read my sig, you realize I am fed up with the whole bunch.

BUT, if they can keep folks arguing with each other (dems vs rep), then they know you will not go against the real problem. The real problem is total mayhem and corruption in our political system. Only when the common people rise up against BOTH parties will it get fixed. Until then, it will continue to be a circus.

Boy, that one may get me a knock on the door.... :smt005

I am with you Woopty and Crispy. I was begining to believe all the bs about this proposal and was glad to hear that it truly was bs. It is amazing what people/groups can come up with. Seems to me the plan, for the most part is a good one. Obama should have informed the nation earlier, before folks got too creative.

It is a good plan, unless you have health insurance. And if it passes it will be great unless your employer doesn't buy in to it and they get hit with the penalties. I for one don't like it or approve of it. Seems to be another hand out that the middle class (majority of us) will have to pay for.
Regulate (& fix) the system we have before you junk it and start over with some crap from Cali.

Rep. Joe Wilson did his job, which was to speak for the people of his district. Was it ill timed? Maybe, but it got the point across. We should all be so lucky to have our Congress representives stand up for WE believe in.

Those of you defending these nuts, there is ONE thing that is a FACT.

The President and all of Congress will not be on the same plan as you and I, you can betcha.

Just ask them.

I agree with RC. I already have good insurance. I like it and I PAY for it. The ones wanting it are the ones who do not pay now, and will not pay later. They want me to pay their part as well as mine. I say BS!

Another fact. Any illegal can now go to any public ER and get free health care, so what is the big deal anyway. It will stay that way. So, Obama not lying about the plan, he just is not telling the whole truth.

Are the elements of "decorum" in the House chamber written down anywhere? The House and Senate need to be like the British Parliament....if you don't agree with anyone speaking just
let the emotions flow...including shouting them down when appropriate!

Anyone who thinks illegals don't already get a huge chunk of taxpayer support led by healthcare is living under a rock shielded from reality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If that shoe fits you should be wearing the T-shirt that says......"I drank the lemonade!"

As for Rep. Wilson....better temporarily "embarrassed" than guilty of silent consent! It was strictly a political speech folks!

That's my $0.02 worth and since I am spokesman for the clan that's our $0.50 worth!
It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
