NFGFC February Redfish - POSTPONED TO 2/13/10
Due to the Small Craft Advisory the tournament has been postponed a week. All of the old details will apply. Just wanted everyone to know that the tournament has been postponed until next Saturday, February 13, 2010. See you all at the St. Marks Fort Ramp on Feb. 13th at 6 a.m.
Boom goes the dynamite.

Thanks for the early notice Casey. I agree with the call

how far is it from the fort ramp approx to the flats,i haven't fished that area yet and thought about checking it out this week while i am off to see if i might try it out next weekend too,by looking at it on google earth it looks like it forks off in two directions which way would you go also.i also was wondering is everyone on the boat weighing in their redfish or is it one per boat for the team? thanks.

One redfish per team will be weighed in. The tail will be pinched and swept across the measure board. I believe the trip from the fort to the bird rack at the mouth of the river is about 7 miles if you follow the marked channel. (There are markers all the way from the fort downstream to beyond the bird rack).
The fork in the river you are talking about is the East River - Don't go that way if you want to make it to the Gulf. If you are talking about the fork that is way upstream, that is where the Wakulla and St. Marks Rivers join together. The fort ramp is just to the East of that fork.
If you don't want to run the 7 miles, you can check in at the fort, then trailer your boat to the lighthouse ramp to launch. Just be sure to leave yourself enough time to retreive your boat, then get back to the for before weigh-in time.

That's odd, JT. I don't recall a weather buoy mounted on Grey Mare. Just gobs of bird poop!
