How in the world do they figure out or remember which way to turn?

Just like I do in autocross, either memorize the course or have a navigator.

Here, navigators typically toss up hand signals on approaching turns to indicate to the driver. A lot of precision timing comes into play.

Turn Direction
Turn Angle/Degree
Throttle level
Turn out direction
