Trout on the flats 3/18/16

Post by Blue spinner »

away from the ramp at 10:30 Friday Morning
started out looking for some reds in close no luck
so I went to some of the spot i did good on last year did catch a few shorts
did some moving around found some nice grass bottom starting to catch some fish all short 14"
and under then lost 2 at the boat that were keepers ,a few shorts later got 1 17" and a 18" keeper
but the best part of the morning was i had a triple tail show up at the back of my boat look like it was about 14"
i did pitch a 5" glow jerk shad at it, it took off that is the first one i have seen out there
back at the ramp at 3:45 i caught 20 to 25 short trout the weather was not that bad for most of the time i was out
did talk to some fisherman that did catch there limits
One thing about the speed of light it gets here too early in the morning

  I hope all the creek fishermen this winter left us a few for the flats. Glad you got out and caught a few.

Sounds good to me! The trout bite is heating up... Got our limit yesterday too!
