Creek Fishing

Post by rebel10 »

Has anyone been catching many trout and reds up the creeks? I'm a rookie but I know once the water cools down they get up in there together. Im itching to wet the jon boat. Thanks in advance!

I looked, have no current info. I wet the boat when I can even if the fish are not biting :D

It usually has to cool down more that it has lately for creek fishing to be good. These days in the 80's will more likely keep trout out on the flats, but still closer in than they were in summer. It won't be much longer and it'll be good in close.

I went last Sunday and caught some nice reds and a beast of a trout just inside a creek with some deep holes on the falling high tide

My old man and I stayed up a creek from about 9-12. Caught 1 short red, 1 catfish, 1 lady fish. Needless to say we should have drifted around the grass flats...

Rebel10, that's what I thought might be in the creeks now. It's still too bloom'in hot outside, the fish will stay on the flats til it cools some.

I found good sized trout Saturday on the high tide feeding in a creek mouth. Chasing bait. Great topwater action in the afternoon.

i usually do good just trolling the grass edge, creek mouths. I take my jon boat our 15x5 and it does ok. Don't wanna catch a windy day, get a little wet here n there

A buddy texted me the other day saying they caught over 100 Reds last weekend targeting Creek and river outlets. I'm sure the numbers are inflated, so it was probably more like 20, but still.
NOAA reports are the reason I have trust issues.
