Saint Marks 4.1.17

Post by fishinfool »

My Sister's birthday is in November, and every year she wants a fishing trip from me. This was the first weekend that our two schedules and the weather cooperated.
We started out working a couple of creeks with the early outgoing high tide and connected with two nice reds, one 26 1/2" and one 22"
fight
fight
26 1/2"
26 1/2"
After dodging the many pods of porpoise that were putting our targeted species on high alert, we were quickly running out of water. Off to the flats in search of trout.
We got into a lot of shorts so we moved around a lot without different results. Near slack tide we went south to a rock pile in search of some sea bass, but only one keeper. By then the tide started to come in, so off to a different flat with much better results.
Cajun Thunder and Mirrodine were responsible for 4 trout up to 19 1/2". The Popping cork also fooled a nice 14" flounder that made into the cooler.
All in all it was a very successful and enjoyable day for both of us.
