Scalloping boat driving etiquette rant!!!
I can't be the only one who finds it totally unbelievable that grown men would rip through the scalloping fleet at wot without a care in the world. We had at least 5 or 6 buzz is off at marks as they were heading back in. I just don't get it.... They can't idle another 10 minutes to clear the fleet?...

Re: Odd Grouper
Looks like a true black. They can have those orange spots and are shaped like a gag. also fin edges are black. Its not a juvenile jewfish!!!! the Hershey bar rectangle pattern common to black may be affected by contact with ice or lack thereof.... nice fish

10/14 40ft
Finally nice weather, and clear water. vis was nearly TTB from 40-45. Bounced around. Shooting a hog or two off each site, with a gag sprinkled in here and there. Great conditions. Trolled up 3 more nice gags and a king just before heading in. Started late, so we had to step on it coming in. Only hi...

Re: Real World Opinions on New Sonar Units
Any feedback on the Hummingbird Helix Si units, 5" and 7" I think? $ wise they seem like a deal and only need a single ducer. I have limited mounting room, so am considering these.

Offshore vis
Vis is good to really good right now. A few hard bottom areas have stringy brown algae breaking loose which cuts vis in those areas. Most areas quite fishy, with herds of triggers everywhere! As soon as I start seeing a lot of a species, they close it???? Saw a ball of cigar minnows stuck to a big j...

Re: Cedar Key spearfishing: 07-02 2014
Awesome report. Vis has been improving steadily. We rarely make it deep enough for the trucks, but have done well on the gags. Been a good hog year to the north.
Thanks for posting.
