From what I've heard, if you have fishing poles in the boat that constitutes probable cause.doomtrpr_z71 wrote: July 3rd, 2025, 7:15 am Well I wonder how the fwc will be now that the boater freedom act is in effect and need probable cause to do a stop now. Great pictures and report as usual.

Re: Floundering
Are you fishing from a boat or walking and/or gigging? I have not targeted flounder in years, but I did go with a friend at Wakulla beach once and he walked around with a headlight and pulled a cooler on a float. There's an area on both sides of the boat ramp that looks shallow and sandy. If you are ...

Re: Way inshore!
It's on the left as you're heading to Horseshoe Beach. There's not much there, just a boat ramp and a camping area. There was a nice floating dock until Helene floated it away and parts of the asphalt on the two bridges. There are several creeks in the area and it's a great Fall - Spring fishing ...

Way inshore!
My girl and I took a little trip down to Shired Island last Saturday to fish with her dad on his mudboat. He likes going up in the creeks pretty far to hunt for monster reds. No monsters were caught that day, but I did get a 22" red and a 17" trout. We also caught 3 Atlantic Croakers and her dad ...

Re: Chirp Chirp
I was surprised that when the Florida Sportsmen Forum shut down, this one didn't really take off.
Many of the contributors over there also posted and viewed here.
Most regional forums I frequented over the years have gone away or have little activity (like this one). The larger national forums ...

So far this year I've been out twice. First trip, nothing not even a catfish. Last weekend one ladyfish and one good sized Mangrove. Where are all the trout I keep hearing about in the river?

Re: Handheld VHF Radio Advice
I have an ICOM M25 5 watt handheld and used in the woods for hunting a few years ago. The range in wooded areas is about 1 mile. I have used it on my boat since the the range is about 5 miles between boats. Of course I can hear USCG Mobile AL.

Re: Econfina River - first time advice
Also curious about Navionics. Looks pretty user friendly? Can you download for areas with no signal and still track your location?
I got the Navionics mobile Boating App back in 2019 and I think the subscription was $15/year. Now I got a new phone and the map doesn't show any detail so I tried ...

Re: Econfina River - first time advice
I guess I've had dumb luck running Econfina because I fished it twice with my old aluminum boat and 4 or 5 times with my new fiberglass boat and never hit anything (knocking on wood as I type this). I even ran through Possum Gap in the old boat to get to Oyster Creek those two times. There are some ...

If anyone has any triple strategies or suggestions on where I should be looking for tripletail attractors, please share or send me a private message. Thanks.
I have always wondered if it's legal to set a crab trap and tie a pallet on the buoy line for Triple tail attractors.
