Re: Turkey Guide

I have no advice for a guide, but there are plenty of birds on area WMA's. Keep scouting and you'll find them.

Re: Cast Netting Mullet

I haven't eaten the river mullet, but I had a neighbor who told me they don't taste nearly as good as salt water mullet. I'd sure give it a try though. Let us know how they come out.

Re: Rod Shopppping??

I try to look for the shimano reel seats and guides, and an action that fits the intended. Another consideration for me is the warranty ...

Re: POLE-EN QUESTION

Check out the cajun anchor. Costs about $100.00 including shipping, won't break your pole and will hold the boat as long as you are in soft bottom.  Powerless powerpole.

Damn, I've been inshore fishing most of my life, and that'd be a good day live bait fishing. Accomplishing that on fly is truely impressive.

Swivels add unnecessary weight, and more knots. Knots are the weakest link to your bait, swivels

Re: Yet Another Public Lake Hunting story... Stupid Kids!

I've heard about the way it used to be around there. I hunted one afternoon a mile or so south of that blind and killed 1 goldeneye and 1 buffie, cripped another buffie and a bluebill. No decoying birds only passing shots when the fishing boats were moving them. Better than dealing with crowds and ...
