St. Marks 2/8 late report

Ran east with a rod and box of flies. After seeing zero fish for a few hours, I found a small conglomerate of reds. I worked through them several times, making several "perfect" casts. However the only responses I got were clouds of mud. Finally on the third and final pass, I casted to thr...

Re: St Joe Bay

I have been out there a lot this winter, a few fish around in that area, but you have to look hard. It will be a great day when April comes.

PSJ 12/20 ditch and flats

Finally made it down for some much needed time on the water. We crossed the bay in the fog and managed to find our way into the canal, thank god for the hand held gps. Anchored up to rig some rods and boated 8 reds to 25" in the same spot. Since that went so well we decided to look for other sp...

Piney Island 11/11

I got some time Tuesday, so I got my plastic boat, paddles, a fishing partner and headed to the coast. The wind was howling on the paddle out, so I left the long rod in the truck. Five minutes after we started fishing, there was no wind. Had slow steady action from 1:00 till sunset. Found the reds a...

purchasing a new fly rod..any suggestions

After a chance run in with a tarpon in marathon this summer, my 8wt east branch is now a broken relic. I have been thinking about going all out with a Sage Xi2; if anyone has anything to say about the Xi2 or has a more economically sound suggestion to offer, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
