Re: Panacea / Alligator Point surf fishing
I would go over to the State Park at Bald Point and fish around the oyster bars. You can't miss with a live shrimp under a popping cork. Gulps are good if you cant get live shrimp. Fish the tide changes and you should find fish to catch.

Re: Flounder Management Options
I love to gig flounder but I support those changes if in fact they are considering them. Not that they give a crap about my opinion.

Re: Flounder Report
If you are going to wade / walk and gig, may I suggest you invest in some ray guard boots and leg protectors. I have been gigging and walking for flounder for years and one finely got me last year. I saw him and moved him away with my gig but he spun around and nailed my ankle. You do not want to be ...

Re: Smooth Puffers
Fished the lighthouse flats this weekend and they were everywhere. Must have hooked 10. They will tear up your gulps and even hit your popping cork. We moved several times and caught them at each stop. I can't remember ever catching them in the past. I think they ate the trout because we never found ...

Re: shark flying out of the water
I love to see that. I fish out of a yak and it's hard to multi task by fishing 2 lines. Especially when you hook into some large. Blacktips are fun to hook into as they really like to break water. Glad you got to experience that. Lots of fun

Re: Cool take on the PVC rod holder
I had a tarpon take a new $200 Pen setup out of my yak last year when I laid it down and not paying attention. I got to see if bounce across the water for a few hundred feet. That sucker is tethered down now. If anyone catches a tarpon with a rod and reel attached, can I have it back?

Eating Shark?
I am curious to learn from those of you that target and or keep and eat shark. Seems like this time of year, they are easy to catch. I was fishing form my kayak this weekend at St. Teresa and caught a three foot black tip. I released him to grow up as is my practice with all fish I catch and dont ...

Re: To join yak navy or not?
I joined last year when I didnt want to follow with the Polar. I purchased a 12 ft Native Slayer. I like it because you sit up in the yak and not down in it. Easier for me and I have better vis. It is also stable enough to stand in so I like that. I went 12 Ft because its just easier to haul. load ...

Fish Movement
Just wondering if the fish are moving out of the rivers and onto the flats. Can anyone report on that movement or when to expect the action to get good for this spring fishing season?

Re: Recreational Fishing Facts
All good silver king, I'm just playing around. I also share boat ownership with my Brother in Law in an 18 ft Polar and we are always throwing money in that thing. Sometimes its just easy to throw your rods and that plastic boat in the truck and fish. I have caught just as many fish that way as in ...
