Re: Wanted: Top for Boat

Go to Walmart and purchase a good quality large cover for a gas grill. You can find a size that will fit right over the console and works better than a magic charm. Be sure to secure with a couple of bungee cords if trailering so it doesn't fly off. You'll spend about $35.

Spanish are back!

Made a leisurely trip to Dog Island Reef Saturday, getting on water about 10:15. After catching a few pinfish (not many there yet) decided to drag a spoon across the reef as I headed out. To my surprise caught a Spanish and wound up catching all I wanted. Most were what I'd call medium sized and a c...

legality of treble hooks

I have used commercially sold packaged king mackeral rigs consisting of a wire leader with two treble hooks with good success. Some come with a mylar skirt that slips over a baitfish's mouth and the trailing stinger hook can be inserted in his tail or left dangling. I believe the brand I've used is ...

Could you please give a description of the sabiki rods you reference. I use sabiki rigs on light spinning rigs. Is this somehow different?

grouper

Would like everyone's opinion on something. Since we're all catching loads of shorts in the 18" - 21" range, does that mean in a year or so we'll all be catching loads of 22"-23" keepers (if they don't ratchet up the size limit again)? Or is this too simplistic? What factors coul...

Lanark Village 12/21/02

Went out of Fina station, Lanark Sat. about 10:00 at the lowest tide I've ever seen there. Equinox, full moon, hard blowing north winds for two previous days must have all combined to push the water way out. Got to end of channel & couldn't get out; came back to station & waited til 11:00 an...

Tom, thanks for the diagram. I'll give it a try! Do you think it makes any difference if it's a Stretch 30, 25 or 18?

Tom, would you kindly describe or show your rig using a stretch w/ a fly in front of it? I've thought about doing something like that, would like to know how you rig it. Tks.
