Re: A Few Questions
I both fly fish and use spinning tackle in the salt up here in the big bend. Like already mentioned I will explore new areas with spinning tackle rather than just the fly rod but once I feel I am in an area that may hold fish, I switch to the fly rod. Trout and red fish are very fly friendly game ...

Re: 4/3 reds
Your problem may not be solved by switching to a different rod. Learning how to double haul on your cast is probably the best way to solve your distance problem. TFO rods are not soft action rods (unless they make a soft model I missed along the way). Nothing wrong with having two rods and a faster ...

Re: PSJ 12/29 Cold
Great job on the reds. I went out in the kayak at Wakulla Beach with high hopes. The wind was very light and there was a break in the clouds that made it feel almost hot on the water. Unfortunately, I never saw a single fish. I even trolled all over the place and never even saw bait move. Plenty of ...

Re: Advice on a "vice"
A renzetti traveler is all the vise you will ever need. It is a full rotary vise that allows you to tie flies of almost all sizes. There are other good vises but you can't go wrong with a renzetti traveler.

Re: BigBendFishing.net Phly Swap III
I am leaving town for the rest of the week so I put my flies in priority mail today. They should get to Panama City well before the Nov. 30 deadline. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I look forward to seeing the results of the swap once all the flies are in.

Re: BigBendFishing.Net Phly Swap II
Mine were waiting in the mailbox when I got home yesterday. They look great and I also thank everyone who participated. Special thanks to Chalk for hosting. Look forward to fishing with these new patterns.

Re: BigBendFishing.Net Phly Swap II
I have completed my set of flies (lefty style clousers with wire weedguard). This is my first swap so I am a little slow on following the directions. It looks like I need to send 11 flies in a box with the return postage in the box along with the flies. That is what I'm doing unless someone tells me ...

Re: BigBendFishing.Net Phly Swap II
I would like to join the swap. Since I am new to Tallahassee, I am unfamilar with locally effective patterns. I have to assume clousers and dahlberg divers work around here so I will tie one or the other. Hope that is ok. Suggestions would be welcome.
