Make sure you know the water depths under you because of the strong full moon tides. They look funny at night but buy a couple glow in the dark topwater lures and hang on.

Walk the Dog and don't jerk until you feel the tug on the other end of the rod. They have a tendency to strike several times ...

West Marine has several maps of the area. I don't think any exclusively look at these two rivers.

If your looking for a photo of the area go to
http://www.duckcentral.com and click on satellite images. Then in the search box type in Saint Marks, Fl. Then navigate east till you find the river mouths ...

During the summer months there is no other lure to use at night than topwater. We used chug bugs, top dogs and she dogs. We were fishing in water that averaged 3 ft. One of the reasons we fish at night is to hear the trout blast that topwater plug.

We drifted until we caught a fish and then dropped ...

Fish early in the morning, late in the afternoon or during the day if it is cloudy and overcast.

The flats south of Piney Island have reds, trout, macks, ladys, blues and sharks. This would be a good place to start. Keep moving until you locate fish and then try to stay in water the same depth ...

Out of the lighthouse channel turn right and fish the bars around the mouth of the East river for reds and possibly a trout. After you catch your 2 reds, run east of the lighthouse and start fishing topwater(chug bug, pop-r, top dog, she dog) and try to locate the trout. Keep moving and trying ...

Our next trip is going to be on a pitch black night to see if the fish will still feed without the moonlight.

It's great to get to the landing and be the only vehicle in the parking lot. I may never see the light of day on the water again.

I wonder if the scallops feed at night too?!

For the 2nd time in 3 months, we took advantage of the full moon. In February we fished the bars of Oyster Bay and came up with 9 keeper size reds with 2 being in the 27 inch range.

This full moon we hit the flats of Shell Point, friday and saturday night, fishing from 8pm to around 2am during the ...
