we fished the apalachee bay for the first time last october and were hooked. Bought the second boat since then and have been back 8 more days since. My son and I are bringing a good friend, his dad and his 7 year old to fish out of Shell point this Friday and Saturday. We want to catch trout and reds and whatever bites. Anybody have any suggestions for locations, times, baits, etc...? Thanks for any replies... we look forward to learning more about this area and to meeting more of the wonderful people there.

Fish early in the morning, late in the afternoon or during the day if it is cloudy and overcast.

The flats south of Piney Island have reds, trout, macks, ladys, blues and sharks. This would be a good place to start. Keep moving until you locate fish and then try to stay in water the same depth.

Fishing the flats in the summer time is a no-brainer. If you have your line in the water, you will catch something.

Use live shrimp for the most bites or artificial for quality fish.
