I've had that same problem before in my kayak when I didn't take enough leader line. The best solution I've found in a pinch is to double about 3 feet of your 12 lb mono and tie a spider hitch. Then tie the spoon or plug to the doubled up line.

Lake bradford is a hard one to fish, and without a trolling motor is almost impossible to fish unless you know the lake and its secrets.Its hard to fish new lakes but when you do key in on the strikes you get and try to come up with a pattern. Went fishing in lake bradford yesterday and today and ended up with 50 specs the biggest slab weighing a hefty two pounds, they are on the spawn right now maybe in your lake to. what a mess- nice story and i to released my 10 pounder back in water. Started fishing today around 2. Cond:water tempt-55-58& and a slight breeze . Starterd by throwing a 12 inch worm with no luck.
