Re: Guided trip to Venice La
I'm looking at Hopedale or Delacroix to do a non-guided trip. A lot to learn there, but that is the fun of it. Just don't want to lose a lower unit.

Guided trip to Venice La
Went on a two day fishing trip on May 31 and Jun 1 with Reel Tite Charters. Very nice accomadations and food. Guide was a fun guy to fish with as well. Had to work hard the first day, pretty windy and rough water in a lot of places. Was only a little better than an average trip at home. Was cool to ...

Re: New member from France
My former boat was the Poisson Rogue obviously for the name, but also as an homage to my dancing daughter and the poisson pose. Welcome.

Nice fish. Those dudes faces look splotchy though.

Shifted west now. Everyone stay safe. Hope Mashes Sands makes it through and all of y'alls places too. Looking pretty rough.

Re: Boat Electronics Install/Repair near Lake Talquin
Excellent service. Great folks. I bought an Xpress from A1Automarine so I don't see them like I did, but if my other boat needs work I will go to them. They have done me right so many times over the years.

Re: Boat Electronics Install/Repair near Lake Talquin
Speed and Custom Marine can do anything, but they are not electronics specific. They have done many electronics installs for me. Just north of Talquin on Old Federal Highway.

Re: Florida Sportsmen Forums clown down.
Good to hear. Why I quit it. I knew a lot of the folks somewhat that were involved in it and it got real old real fast. Once I found this place, I never went back. Been over 10 years ago though.

Re: Florida Sportsmen Forums clown down.
I used to go on there years ago. I think your title was actually better. Got tired of all the clowns wanting to argue all the time. Hope this stays civil and the mods will use the ban hammer if it is not. More activity here would be great, but not if it is all due to pizzing matches.

Re: Triple Tail in the Bay
They can be shallower. We caught a pig that was anchored up on some driftwood that had caught the bottom. Maybe 3-4 feet. As we eased by I saw him and casted back to him. He slammed the bait.

Re: Get some reports started
Turkey season is over, so I will likely be fishing and will try to post up some (not so specific) reports.

Re: Aggravating Toms
For sure. Used it to perfection on a hunt with nephew. He gobbled on the limb, I eased up and walked away from him raising a ruckus and walked him right in to nephew. He stopped at the exact spot I made my first call. It is amazing how they can pinpoint the sound.

Re: Aggravating Toms
Those are all great points and I learned those lessons the hard way. Sometimes though, the bird dictates the set up-like they are encountered close with no time to reposition, or in that case where the terrain was wide open river bottom and they stayed there all day. Had to try something as they ...

Re: Aggravating Toms
I have kinda had the opposite early. Lots of action and the birds would hang up just barely out of my comfort range. Like 45 yards. Every time there were hens involved and I have had hens literally inside 10 yards multiple times this year. One sat and stared at me - never alerted but knew that lump ...

Re: Aggravating Toms
That is why it is so fun. I have been pretty aggravated too at times, had two at just out of my comfort zone of shooting and messed up (again) by a poacher. Called one in earlier for my SIL to end his season and I called one in on Saturday. The two hens were 10 yards from me, but he followed too ...
